Valentines Day!

Well Happy Valentines Day to anyone who happens upon my blog.

I was reading various sites this morning and found a random statistic that surprised me. Apparently it's estimated that 15% of U.S. women send themselves flowers on Valentine's Day. That's crazy to me... Are we that desperate to appear "more loved" than our co-worker?? I just assume if you send yourself flowers you'd send them to work so others would see them... I don't why else you'd send yourself flowers if you weren't trying to get someone to see them.

Can we not be happy in ourselves? Does self-worth really boil down to how loved people THINK we are? Take heart in the love you really have from family and friends don't wallow in what you don't have but think you should.

Woo Hoo! I won a contest on . Thank you Gina for the generous give away and for the info on tatting instruction! I'm so excited to see what it is. I truly love getting mail (that's not bills... Haha). Packages, letters, cards... It all makes me kinda happy :D

On another note we took our little man to Dinosaur Valley State Park yesterday. We hiked around and enjoyed the much needed sunshine. We had a great time hiking through the "ninja forset" (as my 4 yr old called it) and having a picnic. I think we are going to have to go back without little man and hit some harder trails at a faster pace to get in some training time.

So my Warrior Dash training starts tonight... I set up my morning and evening routines. Morning with boot camp style circuit training and evenings will be running... Wish Me Luck!! I'll continue to update as we go...

Warrior Dash?!?!

So I think I'm gonna do something crazy... I'm going to try to run Warrior Dash! I've got two months to train before it comes to my area. How do you train to crawl through mud and jump over fire?? It looks like my husband, my brother and my sister-in-laws are all going to run it. They are all in way better shape than me not to mention way more competitive than I am so I'm not gonna be able to hang... Lol but it looks like a big bunch of fun. I guess I'm gonna start tomorrow at least working up to run the 5K piece and figure out what else to add to the mix to train for the obstacles.

Tatting instructor needed!

So I've been scouring the Internet and reading everything I can get my hands on to try to learn to tat. I have some basics down, like the double stitch, a ring, closing the ring and a chain. However, theres nothing so far that helps me understand how to put it all together. I can read a lot of the patterns I've found but I can't complete any of them because I can't figure out how to move from the first ring to the second. All the reading in the world doesn't replace the human element of being taught. I could use a live person to explain and show things to me and that I can ask questions. Ugh! Well off to try again! :)

I don't think we're in "Texas" any more Todo

So we have been trapped inside by snow and ice for 4 straight days now... This is unheard of around here. I think it's beginning to affect us all (in a bad way... Lol). It's a beautiful sight but I am SO ready for things to get back to normal. I've lived in Tx my whole life and I can't remember ever having school closed for four days im a row. Crazy!

I'll post a pic if I can figure out how.

Something New

So I'm trying something new... I'm a mother to an amazing little boy, I'm married to the love of my life, I have a husky mutt named Bear and a full time job (haha like the rest of you don't). I've always had creative ideas and lots of thoughts but tend to not have the time or money to follow through. For instance, I've always aspired to write a book. I even have the idea but some how have never manger to get past the "fear" of the blank page... LOL.

I try all kinds of crafts and I am always looking for something new to try... I make a lot of jewelry. I've also recently started tatting or more appropriately trying teach myself how to tat. So we'll see how that goes.

Anyway, so give me sometime to figure this "blog" out.
